Appliances Repair in VA

  • I run out the dryer to grab some clean sheets and find… my last load on top of the dryer & the one before still in the dryer. Wet. What the Hell?? I’m thinking my house mates had swiped out my laundry for their own and not put mine back in. #*@)&%# I press the on button & the dryer goes on. Come back 45 minutes later… to cold, wet, laundry. Try all the settings. The dryer goes on but never heats up.

  • AHHHH!!!! One of the best things about having my own house was having my own washer and dryer. And now I have no dryer. And I have to talk to *eek* service peopl
    e.
Make my yelp list of 4 people to contact. Thank the gods for yelp. No more closing your eyes and dropping a pen into the yellow pages. I see that Appliances Repair in VA has email. I decide to give it a whirl before making phone calls.
I got a response right away letting me know that there was a minimum fee of $65 which could be applied to the service. I know no one is going to come over for free! So I give the times over the next 2 days that I can be at home. Gene replies that he can’t make it then, how about next week. Nooooo!!! I have to go back to renter life and coin-op laundry? But then — miracle! He emails that he had a cancelation and could I meet in the next hour? Hallelujah!

Gene came in, had my dryer front off in 2 seconds (which I’d tried for about 10 mins) and within 5 more minutes he’d diagnosed that the fuse in the dryer was out. He had one in the truck. 30 minutes later I had dryer! Woo hoo!!
Warante on the work, $135 including part & cleaning of the inside of the dryer (which was seriously a disaster — hand me down dryer from mom & never opened up), and full drying ability completely restored. Happy happy appliance day.
